72. John TURNEY was christened on 17 Mar 1758 in Ridgmont, Beds. He died on 3 Oct 1801 in Husborne Crawley, Beds.

His occupation was recorded as :-
Butcher (Marriage Licence Bond 1782)

He appears in the 1783 Land Tax records for Husborne Crawley paying tax as the occupier of a property belonging to a Mrs Badrow(?).

He was the Husborne Crawley Church Warden in 1791.

Bedfordshire Quarter Session - 4 July 1792 :-
Certificate by Joseph Harris, glazier, John Keech, farmer, and John Turney, butcher, and John Gurney, miller, all of Husborne Crawley, that the dwelling house in Husborne Crawley in the occupation of Joseph Harris, glazier, is intended to be used as a meeting house for religious worship by Protestant dissenters.

He died intestate and an Administration of his Estate was made in the Archdeaconry of Bedford on the 14 December 1801. His wife Elizabeth and John Randall (father-in-law) were made Administrators.

Monumental Inscription in Husborne Crawley churchyard; "In memory of John Turney Husband of Elizabeth Turney who died October 3 1801 aged 43 years also of four of their children who died in infancy"

He obtained a marriage license on 7 Jun 1782 in Archdeaconry of Bedford. On the Marriage Allegation & Bond John Turney was described as a Butcher of Husborne Crawley and over the age of 21 years. Elizabeth Randall was described as a minor with her father John Randall of Lidlington, Farmer and Butcher as her guarantor. He was married to Elizabeth RANDALL on 10 Jun 1783 in Lidlington, Beds.

73. Elizabeth RANDALL was christened on 3 Jul 1763 in Cranfield, Beds.

In memories of a grand-daughter, Lucy Townshend, Elizabeth "had been one of three famous beauties , the Miss Randalls of Bedfordshire."

After the death of her husband John in 1801, Elizabeth married John BARWICK on 25 November 1805 in Husborne Crawley. In the 1841 census she is shown as being "Independant" and living in the town of Husborne Crawley.

iii. Mary TURNEY was christened on 11 Dec 1786 in Husborne Crawley. She was buried on 12 May 1790 in Husborne Crawley.
iv. Elizabeth TURNEY was christened on 3 Mar 1788 in Husborne Crawley.
v. Mary TURNEY was christened on 27 Mar 1790 in Husborne Crawley.
vi. Sophia TURNEY was christened on 9 Jun 1791 in Husborne Crawley. She died on 22 Jan 1865 in Hoxton, Mdx.
vii. Lucy TURNEY was christened on 8 May 1793 in Husborne Crawley.
viii. Joel TURNEY was christened on 14 Sep 1796 in Husborne Crawley. He was buried on 17 Dec 1796 in Husborne Crawley.
ix. Edward TURNEY was christened on 16 May 1798 in Husborne Crawley.
