EIGHTH GENERATION


John KEYES  was christened on 11 Aug 1717 in Adstock, Buckinghamshire, England.1 He was buried on 20 Jul 1792 in Adstock.1

He married Mary EDWIN in Buckingham by Licence3 on 21 Sep 1742.2 She was buried in Adstock on 25 May 1795. The burial entry had the notation "widow of late John, farmer".1

The marriage licence bond describes John as a labourer of Padbury, batchelor aged 25years & Mary Edwin of Padbury, a spinster aged 21 years, with John as one of the bondsmen and Nicholas Edwin, farmer of Padbury as the other, he most likely being Mary's father. Both John & Nicholas signed their names.3

child ii. Francis KEYS was christened on 23 Feb 1745 in Adstock.1
child iii. William KEYS was christened on 22 Feb 1746 in Adstock.1
child iv Mary KEYS was christened on 11 Dec 1748 in Adstock.1
child v. Thomas KEYS was christened on 16 Aug 1750 in Adstock.1 He was buried in Adstock on 3 Oct 1750.1
child vi. Sarah KEYS was christened on 26 Jan 1752 in Adstock.1 She was buried in Adstock on 18 May 1770. The burial entry had the notation "spinster".1 Even though she was only 18 at the time, there was no other adult Sarah in this family line in Adstock, so it is presumed to be this Sarah.
child vii. Richard KEYS was christened on 14 Apr 1754 in Adstock.1
child viii. Francis KEYS was christened on 2 May 1756 in Adstock.1
child ix. Elizabeth KEYS was christened on 15 Apr 1759 in Adstock.1
child x. Martha KEYS was christened on 11 Jan 1761 in Adstock.1
child xi. Hannah KEYS was christened on 22 Feb 1762 in Adstock.1
child xii. Jane KEYS was christened on 12 Feb 1764 in Adstock.1 She was buried in Adstock on 25 Jan 1775.1
child xiii. Nicholas KEYS was christened on 17 Nov 1765 in Adstock.1
