World War 1 : Served in the 1/25th London Regiment seeing service in 1917 in the Waziristan campaign (now Pakistan / Afganistan). This was not a part of Britain's WW1 struggle with Germany but a Mahsud uprising in the North West frontier of the Indian colonies. See the following links :-
