ELEVENTH GENERATION


William THORPE. He was buried on the 4 Nov 1676 in Hoggeston, Buckinghamshire.

He left a will.

His will gives clues as to his parentage. In the will he makes his brothers John & Hugh overseers. These are the sons of John Thorpe of Granborough who mentions them in his will alongside their brother William and other siblings. The marriage entry and William's first child Elizabeth being christened in Granborough confirm the connection to Granborough.

Married to Alice SHORT on the 31 Oct 1659 in Hoggeston. The parish register entry described William as being of Granborrough and Alice of Hogstone. She was buried on the 14 Dec 1721 in Hoggeston.

Children were:

i.  Elizabeth THORPE was christened on 18 May 1661 in Grandborough.
ii.  Thomas THORPE was christened on 12 Oct 1663 in Hoggeston.
iii.  William THORPE was christened on 9 Jan 1666 in Hoggeston.
iv.  John THORPE  was christened on 24 Feb 1668 in Hoggeston.
v. Joseph THORPE was christened on 14 Nov 1670 in Hoggeston.
vi.  Marie THORPE was christened on 23 Sep 1673 in Hoggeston.
vii.  John THORPE was christened on 27 Apr 1701 in Hoggeston.
