Family History

SEVENTH GENERATION

100. William BALLINGER.

His occupation has been recorded as :-
Waterman (daughter Jane's baptism 1816)
Captain (son Isaac's 2nd Marriage Certificate 1878)

Not much is known about William apart from the occupations listed above. The River Wye is navigable up to Hereford so he could have been working on Canal Boats or Barges. The Ballinger name is apparently well known on the Waterways.

Most Ballingers seem to be in Gloucestershire. It is possible this is where William originated as his descendents appear to be the only Ballinger family in Hereford (the town) during his time. There are many William Ballingers in Gloucestershire so it will be impossible to attribute a baptism to him unless more info comes to hand.

No burial or death has been found for him as yet.

He was married to Mary PREECE on 1 Apr 1794 in St. Owen, Hereford, Hfd.

101. Mary PREECE.

No further information is known about Mary or the Preece ancestry.

Mary Preece is a very common name in Hereford(shire). Even with a burial or death age it will be very hard to identify her baptism amongst the number available.

No burial or death has been found for her as yet.
