To all Christian people to whom this present writing shall or may come Stephen Gasherie of Kingstowne in ye County of Ulster sendeth greeting now know yee that y s’d Stephen Gacherie for divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving but more & especially for and in consideration of a certain sum of ninety pounds current money of New Yorke to him in hand well & truly payd before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by Nicolaes du puis of Marbletown in s’d County the receipt whereof he the said Steven Gacherie doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom and of & from every & parcel thereof doth acquit exonerate release and forever by these presents discharge him ye said Nicolaes du puis his heirs executors and administrators, have given granted bargained & sold, released ratified & confirmed and do by these presents freely clearly and absolutely give bargain & sell release ratify and confirm unto him the said Nicolaes du puis his heirs and assigns forever

all that certain tract or parcel of land situate & being on ye South side of ye Roundout Creeke w’thin the bounds of Marble town aforesaid beginning by a black oake tree marked with three notches & a cross over them by a small run or brooke which runneth in the Roundout Creeke against ye land of Jan van Campen
from thence running North East five chains then North North East forty one chains to a black oake tree marked as aforesaid upon ye side of said Roundout Creek opposite ye land of Moses du puis
from thence up said creek with an oval course as it runs including all the turnings and points of said creek ninety seven chains to ye first station
containing one hundred & fourteen acres

To have & to hold the sd tract and parcel of land with all & every its profits benefits advantages commodities privileges hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto to him ye s’d Nicolaes du puis his heirs and assigns, and to ye sole proper use benefit & behoof of him ye s’d Nicolaes du puis his heirs & assigns forever and ye s’d Stephen Gacherie doth for himself his heirs executors and administrators covenant promise and agree to & with the said Nicolaes du puis his heirs and assigns that he the s’d Stephen Gacherie at ye time of ye conveying hereof is and stands wholly & lawfully seized and possest of ye above granted premises and that he hath full power good right & lawful authority to convey and transport the same in manner and as aforesaid and lastly the said Stephen Gacherie the s’d granted premises in the quiet & peaceable possession & seizin of him the said Nicolas du puis his heirs & assigns against all persons claiming any right or title thereto by from or under him the said Stephen Gacherie or any other person or persons whatsoever shall & will warrant and forever by these presents defend and ye said Nicolaes du puis is to pay unto ye Trustees of Marbletown in the yearly quit rent of fifteen pence current money of New Yorke and is to observe the privilege the said Trustees have reserved for ye town or said land
