Deed - Stephen Gasherie - 1696 |

Deed – Ulster County, New York State. Deed Book AA, pg.173 To all Christian people to whom this presents shall or may come John Gasherie and Stephanus Gasherie of Kingstowne in the County of Ulster sendeth greeting whereas the said John Gasherie and Stephanus Gasherie for divers good causes and consideration them thereunto moving but more and especially for and in consideration of a certaine sum of one hundred and tenn pounds current money of ye province of New Yorck to them in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by John Hamble late of Horly (sic. Hurley) in ye County aforesaid have bargained, sold, alienated, enfeoffe, assigned & sett over, unto by these presents do bargain, sell, alienate, enfeofe, assigns and sett over unto said John Hamble a certain house & lott of ground, situate lying and being in ye town of Kingstowne aforesaid to ye South and East of ye Street to the West of the ground of William van Vredenburgh, and to the North of ye house and ground which Gillis de Lagransie bought of Nicolas Anthony, being a corner house near ye gate of ye mill of Jan Focke, which said house & lott of ground was this day conveyed this day by William Legg attorney of said John Hamble unto them ye said John Gasherie and Stephanus Gasherie To have and to hold the said house and lott of ground unto ye sd. John his heirs & assigns and to ye only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said John Hamble his heirs & assigns forever In Testimony whereof ye sd. John Gasherie and Stephanus Gasherie said have hereunto sett their hands and affixed their seals In Kingstowne this second day of April 1696 The condition of ye above written grant is such that
if the said John Gasherie and Stephanus Gasherie shall well & truly
pay or cause to be paid unto ye said John Hamble his heirs executors
administrators and assigns the full & just summe of one hundred and
tenn pound current money of the province of New Yorck in four distinct
payment that is to say Eighteen pounds & seven shillings at or before
ye first day of May next ensuing and Eighteen pounds & eleven
shillings at or before the first day of October next ensuing and thirty
six pound and thirteen shillings at or before the first day of May 1697
and ye last payment being thirty six pounds & thirteen shillings at or
before ye first day of May 1698 that then & in such case ye above
written grant to be utterly void and of none effect otherwise to stand
remain in full force & virtue. Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of In ye presence of me Jacob Rutsen Justice of ye Peace Then acknowledged John Hamble to have received full
satisfaction for this present mortgage and ordered ye same to be entered
