This Indenture made the fourteenth day of June in the six and thirtieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles the Second over England &c. 

Between Captaine Henry Greenland of New York Piscataway of East New Jersey gent and Mary his wife of the one part and John Schouten of New York gent of the other part 

Whereas the Right Honble the Lady Elizabeth Carteret late Lady ……..? executrix of the said Province  in and by our Patent bearing date the twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord 1681 for the consideration therein mentioned did give and grant within the bounds of the town of New Piscataway aforesaid lying and being upon the Rariton River containing three hundred acres
In breadth Northwest and Southeast as the river runs fifty chains
and in length running Southwest and Northeast into the woods sixty chains
bounded on the South by Richard Smith on the North by Peter Billion?
on the West by the sd river and on the East by the land unsurveyed
But there being allowance given for highways and barren land the same was to remain for two hundred acres English measurement and no more as by that sd patent now remaining upon record in the Secretary’s Office of the sd Province may at large appear 

Now this Indenture witnesseth that the Captaine Henry Greenland by and with the consent and good liking of the sd Mary his wife testified by her being a part to these presents and signing and sealing the same and for and in consideration of a competent sum of money to him in hand paid by the said John Schouten before the sealing of these presents wherewith the said Capt Henry Greenland doth hereby acknowledge  himself fully satisfied and paid and thereof and of every part thereof doth acquit and discharge the said John Schouten his heirs and assigns forever 

Hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the sd John Schouten one moyetie (sic moiety) or half part of the said whole tract of land viz. the same butted and bounded in the before recited Patent to be taken from and out of that part being and adjoining the land now in the possession of John De…ent?
and to run Northwest and Southeast as the river runs twenty five chains in breadth
and in length to run Southwest and Northeast in to the woods sixty chains
to compleat the number of one hundred and fifty acres
together with all woods underwoods marches meadows wayes easements profits commodities and hereditaments thereunto belonging with their and every of their appurtenances 

To have and to hold the sd moiety or half part of the sd tract of land unto the sd John Schouten his heirs and assigns forever to the only use and behoof of him the said John Schouten his heirs and assigns forever 

In witness whereof the said partys to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals interchangeably the day and year first above written

Sealed and delivered by the abovenamed Henry Greenland in the presence of

Sealed and delivered by the above named Mary in the presence of
John Dennes   Saml? Dolle?
June 18th 1684 

The within named Cap. Henry Greenland and Mary his wife this day appeared before me and the sd Mary being separately examined declared that the within mentioned deed of conveyance was past by her out of her free and voluntary will without any restraint or compulsion of her husband who acknowledged the same to be her act and deed
