Deed – Secretary of State, New York. Deed Book 25, pgs 129 Leonard M. Cutting This indenture made the tenth day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety three between Leonard M. Cutting of the one
part and John Stites of Elizabeth Town in the State of New Jersey Merchant of
the other part Witnesseth that the said Leonard M. Cutting for and in consideration of the sum of ten shillings current money of the State of New York to him in hand paid by the said John Stites the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold remised released and quit claim and by these presents doth bargain sell remise release and quit claim unto the said John Stites his heirs and assigns All that certain tract of land situate in the County of Tioga and distinguished on a map thereof filed in the Secretary’s Office by Township number eleven of the twenty Townships laid out for sale on the west side of the Unadilla River beginning at a Beech Tree marked for the South East corner of the said
Township, together with all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in
any wise appertaining with all the estate right title property interest claim or
demand whatsoever of him the said Leonard M. Cutting of in or to the premises or
any part thereof with the remainder and remainders reversion and reversions
rents issues and profits of all and singular the said premises with the
appurtenances To have and to hold all and singular the said premises with the appurtenances
unto the said John Stites his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and
behoof of him the said John Stites his heirs and assigns forever In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto
interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Sealed and delivered in the presence of us Received the day and year within mentioned of the within John Stites the sum
of ten shillings the consideration money within expressed to be paid Witness John Pearson,
Robt Welman City of New York ss. The preceding Deed was recorded at the request of John Stites the Release
examined and compared with the original this 15th day of July 1793
