Memorandum from Head Teacher.
Christ Church Virginia Water School.

Louisa Chapman attended the above school as a child. She was a very apt pupil; careful, painstaking & accurate.
Her conduct was exemplary.

I have the greatest pleasure in stating that I consider Miss Louisa Chapman of Bagshot Lodge, Virginia Water as a young girl of great ability, considerably above the average of her age.
Her knowledge and practice of Arithmetic including the Matric System and her General Intelligence and power of expressing her thoughts in Good English are her strongest points. She is also a very good writer.
I had ample opportunity for forming this opinion of her capability while she was under my tuition privately, for several months last year.
I believe her moral character to be without reproach.
Wm. Butler, late Head Master, Station Rd Council School, Egham.
